The Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Public Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA) invite applications for the 2018 Cadet Learnership Programme. This is a Youth Development Empowerment initiative that supports the National Development Plan’s idea of formalised recruitment schemes that through theoretical training and experiential learning afford unemployed youth in South Africa the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and experience whilst at the same time, positioning themselves for active and meaningful participation in the labour market. The Cadet Learnership Programme comprises of both theoretical and practical components aimed at training on the National Certificate: Home Affairs Services which exposes learners to the core business of the Department (Civic and Immigration Services). Preference will be given to youth who reside within close proximity of the office where the post is based.
Requirements: South African citizens only, aged between 18 to 35 years • A Grade 12 Certificate • A 3 year National Diploma / Degree at NQF Level 6 in Public Management/ Public Administration will serve as an added advantage.

Note: Applications must be made on a signed and dated Z83 Application for Employment Form, accompanied by a comprehensive CV as well as certified copies of all qualifications and Identification Document • Should an applicant be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate obtained from SAQA • Applications without certified required documents will not be considered • Successful candidates will be subjected to pre-employment screening and security checks. Learners who previously participated in a Public Service Learnership Programme, will not be considered • Cadets will be placed in the following Civic Services Offices for experiential learning and will also be considered to be deployed to various Ports of Entry during peak periods.
