City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality invites applicants to apply for Chartered Accountant Training / Internship Programme 2021.
The City of Tshwane wishes to invite suitably qualified accounting graduates to join its Chartered Accountant Training Programme (CATP).
THIS PROGRAMME AIMS TO ATTRACT THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATES

QUALIFYING CRITERIA TO APPLY AND BE SHORTLISTED FOR INTERVIEWS
- Must have completed a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) or be in the final year of completing a CTA.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have no criminal record and/or clear ITC.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR FINAL PLACEMENT
- Only candidates in possession of a CTA will be considered for placement after the interview process.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED
- The chartered accountant trainee will be expected to perform tasks relevant to obtaining the necessary competencies to qualify as a chartered accountant by the end of the three-year training period.
The trainee will gain exposure to the following City of Tshwane divisions during the training period:
- Financial Reporting and Assets
- Budget Office
- Operational and Transversal Compliance and Continuous Auditing
- Revenue Management
- Treasury
- Acquisitions and Demand Management
Trainees will enter into employment and training contracts. The agreements ensure commitment to the programme which requires, among others, full participation in educational and workplace assignments, and observance of the policies and procedures of the City of Tshwane.

Internship Location: Pretoria, South Africa
Basic salary: R273 540,00 – R379 920,00 per annum

Individuals who meet the qualifying criteria must complete and submit a CATP application form with a curriculum vitae and certified copies of their identity document, relevant degrees, full academic transcript and CTA certificate or proof that they are registered to write the final CTA examinations in 2021 to [email protected].
