SABC Internship Programme 2025; SABC understands the importance of education and the effects of media and sharing.  They are a well-established entity within South Africa, offering a variety of opportunities to deserving candidates each year.

They have great support from the media such as radio, magazines newspapers, and online journalists, which they are grateful for.  With the aid of these extra sources, the news and all that the SABC does can reach millions of readers and listeners.

The SABC internships offer a monthly stipend, depending on the position.  Most of these are no longer than ten months.  Candidates who are selected must be able to commence with their internship on the 1st of April each year.  This opportunity is ideal for new graduates who have just completed their tertiary education with an accredited institute.

SABC Internships Requirements

Applications are accepted yearly for a variety of internships to fill an opening within the SABC.  Applicants must not be older than 28.

Candidates will also be required to have the following:

  • Candidates must hold a valid Matric certificate
  • Candidates must be a South African citizen
  • Valid ID book/card
  • Candidates with a degree or diploma within the selected discipline
  • Candidates must be MS as well as computer literate
  • Must not have any other internship experience or qualifications
  • Candidate must not have any prior work experience
  • Must be proficient in English (read, write & speak)
  • Candidates must be willing to do an aptitude test, along with any other required criteria
  • Candidates must apply within their relevant provinces

Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.  Ensure you attach all relevant certified documentation to your application, in addition to a curriculum vitae.  The curriculum vitae should reflect your expertise, and competencies along with your skills and interests.

SABC Internship Programme Application

Internship online application processes are made available during the year.  There are multiple sites where applications can be made, however, it is recommended to regularly check on the SABC website for any developments during the year.

Once applications open you can download the form, complete it, and send it along with all required documentation to [email protected], additionally, you can also contact them for more information.  Remember to include certified copies of all qualifications and your ID.

In your subject line, please only add the reference number (if applicable) or internship field.  Applications that do not include this will not be considered.  Also, indicate the province you wish to apply for.

Closing Date of SABC Internship Programme

The closing dates for SABC internships are usually the end of January each year.  They will not accept any late entries, so be sure you have your application, along with all required documentation in on time.  Their internships are subject to change regularly as their needs arise and are filled.

They will contact qualifying individuals, and appointments will be made for interviews.  These will also only be done under the capacity need of the SABC.
